CARACAS, Venezuela, Aug. 26 -- The 4th International Military Sports Council (CISM) World Cadet Games concluded on August 23 at the Fuerte Tiuna military base in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela.
This year's World Cadet Games features seven disciplines: military pentathlon, orienteering, shooting, swimming, track and field, volleyball and fencing, with over 490 athletes representing nine countries.
Notably, this was the first time that the Chinese military organized a delegation to participate in the World Cadet Games and competed in six of the seven disciplines, excluding fencing. China won a total of 70 medals – 26 gold, 16 silver and 28 bronze – and ranked second on the gold medal list.
